2018 Topeka Employment Forecast released

新加坡六合彩开奖网's Center for Economic Development and Business Research has released its Topeka Employment Forecast.

In 2018, Topeka total nonfarm employment is expected to grow 0.4 percent, adding approximately 400 jobs to the local economy.

The production sectors and service sectors are both projected to grow at 0.7 percent in 2018, adding 100 and 400 new jobs, respectively. Employment in the trade, transportation, and utilities sector, as well as in the government sector, is expected to remain relatively flat.

"The Topeka economy seems to have caught some 'flu-like symptoms' in 2017, as it relates to the recent loss in employment," said Jeremy Hill, director for the Center for Economic Development and Business Research at Wichita State. "Those losses were spread across several sectors; however, retail, wholesale, and professional services each saw more significant declines. The center expects the recent losses are not systemic and the economy will see some growth in 2018."
