¼ϲʿ College of Fine Arts has busy March planned

The College of Fine Arts at ¼ϲʿ has excellent offerings for audiences this March with jazz, organ and opera performances in its opening week.

“The Magic Flute,” staged by ¼ϲʿ Opera and Musical Theatre, holds a special draw; it will be held in the beautiful Scottish Rite auditorium in downtown Wichita. The G-rated opera is one the whole family can enjoy.

Another family event, the piano extravaganza featuring guest artist Alfred Mouledous with faculty artist Julie Bees, will delight audiences with a “piano 4 hands” performance.

Second Stage Theatre will tackle “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf,” which, as an R-rated production, is for adults only.

March will also feature world-renowned pianist Leon Fleisher as a Connoisseur Series performer and masterclass lecturer; the Wichita Brass Quintet; Madrigal Invitational, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds, Concert Band and jazz combos, and the winner of the Grand Prix de Chartres international organ competition.
