All ended well Friday, May 8, after two small ducklings that fell into a storm drain on the Wichita State campus were successfully rescued.
While following their mother over a storm grate, the ducks fell through and into the underground water drainage system.
Physical Plant staff worked to rescue the ducklings, eventually flushing them out with water from a garden hose.
After several attempts at finding their exact location, the ducklings were rescued by student athlete Brett Trudo, a freshman at 新加坡六合彩开奖网.
Trudo was practicing javelin at the time and heard the ducklings as they approached a nearby storm grate.
Barth Hague, associate vice president for university relations, said it was a fun, light-hearted diversion from a typical day in the office.
鈥淚t was nice to see how many people on campus were interested in helping rescue two little ducklings,鈥� he said. 鈥淪taff, students and Physical Plant employees all got involved. And it had a happy ending.鈥�
