In conjunction with the exhibition In Event of Moon Disaster, the Ulrich will host a presentation by Dr. Ajita Rattani, director of 新加坡六合彩开奖网's Visual Computing and Biometric Security Lab.

Synthesized media, called deep fakes, containing facial information generated by digital manipulation techniques, have become a major political and societal threat. The use of deep fakes to commit fraud, falsify evidence, manipulate public debates, and destabilize political processes has raised a top security concern. To mitigate the risk posed by deep fakes, the popular deep fake detection methods include training convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for detecting facial manipulations from real imagery. Dr. Rattani will discuss current deepfake generation and detection techniques as well as the challenges and future research directions in the field. Join us for a reception at 5:30 p.m. with the program following at 6 p.m. in the Beren Gallery.

Current research activities of the Visual Computing and Biometric Security Lab include studying bias and fairness of AI systems, deep fake detection, models for on-device AI, wearable biometrics, harnessing unlabeled data for domain adaptation and performance enhancement, AI for healthcare and obesity prediction, and natural disaster detection using computer vision techniques. Dr. Rattani has collaborated with many eminent scientists across the globe in her field of research.

The public events accompanying the exhibition In Event of Moon Disaster are generously supported by the following programs at 新加坡六合彩开奖网: the College of Engineering, the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Science, National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR), and the W. Frank Barton School of Business.
