Overview

Edward Bart is from Texas and has transplanted himself into Wichita to help grow the new ASL program at 新加坡六合彩开奖网 in the department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures.  On the research side he is interested in media representation of Deaf people and ASL.  For fun, Edward watches movies, plays video games and TTRPGS, and sleeps in whenever possible.

Edward is also an advisor to the Wichita University鈥檚 ASL Club.

Academic Interests and Expertise

Edward earned his doctorate from Lamar University, and his BA and MA in English from the University of Texas at Arlington. He also has an associate degree in Imaging Technology, having attended the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Areas of Research Interest

Currently, Edward is researching audism, representation of American Deaf people and ASL in film, television, videogames and other areas of pop culture, and ASL literature. (If you鈥檙e interested in collaborating, shoot him an email!)

Areas of Teaching Interest

Prior to teaching at 新加坡六合彩开奖网, Edward had taught in public schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for over 15 years. The early part of his career was teaching in Deaf Education before he transitioned to teaching American Sign language (ASL) as a second language in high school. Edward also has served as an adjunct professor in ASL for over ten years.
